On returning to Samoa in 1986, from owning a restaurant in Sydney and dairy farming in New Zealand, Raema took over managing 12 family owned flats in Motootua, close to the main General Hospital in Apia.
The Company, Navigator Enterprises Ltd, was started in 1999 when as partners Raema and Paul took over the Property Management of a commercial building called ‘Coxon’s’ Building in Apia. This is a two storey building located in Saleufi, a busy part of Apia. The building has 17 rental spaces, mainly offices upstairs and on the street level, a large hardware store (ACE hardware), boutique, cafe and next door to Ace, facing Lucky Foodtown supermarket is where Navigator Enterprises Ltd retail store and Navigator Property Management operate from.
The name ‘Navigator Enterprises’ was derived from the early European explorers who named Samoa the ‘Navigator islands’ because of the islanders seafaring skills.
When Navigator Enterprises was established Paul concentrated his efforts on the retail of water pumps, swimming pool supplies and clean-water products while Raema concentrated her time in the Property Management.
In 2001 the company expanded into rental houses by building 5 small accommodation cottages in their garden at Motootua. These units were built to cater to the needs of expatriates who were in Samoa for short term contracts. These houses are fully furnished and self contained.
Requests to manage homes while the owners lived overseas followed and the Property Management business expanded.
Projects include managing, designing and building a block of 12 self contained studio Apartments situated near the National hospital. This Apartment complex is now managed, on behalf of the owner, by Navigator Properties.
Today, Paul and Raema manage the real estate business along with Property Agent Pulega and their trusted team of support staff who strive to make the real estate buying and selling experience in Samoa an easy one for you.
